When it comes to the world of fitness supplements it is a billion dollar a year industry. The problem is most of that money is wasted by consumers.
I see people all the time who start working out and run down and buy a few hundred dollars in supplements they see in magazines thinking it will help them with their fitness goals. They begin working out and they thank the supplements for the improvement in their fitness.
What they do not realize is more than the supplements, its the fact they are actually working out and eating right that is the major reason for the change in their body composition.
Unless you are an elite level athlete or trying to drop that last five pounds after months of working out most supplements will give you little if any performance improvement. Some are even dangerous.
The main things most people need are simple. A multi vitamin, protein and maybe some creatine and a fat burner. Beyond that most of this stuff will give you very little if any improvement. Sure amino acids and things like that will help you. But before you go out and spend a bunch of money, start working out consistently and eating right.
I usually recommend to start with the protein and multivitamin and then work your way into the more costly and specialized supplements. That way you can actually tell if the supplement is effective. Once you are somewhat in shape it easier to tell how effective a supplement is as opposed to being out of shape. When you first start working out with or without supplements your body will experience a huge transformation.
Once you hit a peak level where your body begins to slow down is the time to add extra supplements to your regime to help you get over those plateaus. Otherwise you are just throwing your money away. And if you want to throw it away, you can send it to me!
